Covid-19 Guidelines

What to expect when you’re expecting at The Women’s Center at Helen Keller Hospital.

We realize this may not be the birthing journey you had anticipated. However, your Keller Team will do everything we can to support you during this special time in your life.

We are pleased to help you share your precious bundle of joy with your family in new and exciting ways. As we adapt to this ever-changing situation, we want you to feel secure in the knowledge that we are here for you and will do our best to make this a beautiful experience for you and your family.

Covid-19 Labor & Delivery

  • Helen Keller Hospital allows up to 2 visitors , which includes your primary support person. Should you choose, you must swap out visitors at the main entrance. Caregivers must be over the age of 16.
  • You are welcome to bring snacks and comfort items, medications etc. from home.
  • We offer a full-time on staff IBCLC, Lactation Consultant for breastfeeding moms. She often attends OR deliveries to assist with clear drapes delivery and skin-to-skin breastfeeding in the OR.
  • We have Nitrous Oxide available as an option for pain control during natural birthing.
  • You may see your Keller Team in more personal protective equipment than they would normally be wearing. Please know this is to keep you safe.
